GOD’S PART

  1. God’s great love for mankind (John 3:16)

  2. He gave His Son, Jesus Christ, as Savior (Luke 19:10)

  3. He sent the Holy Spirit as a guide (John 16:13)

  4. He gave the Gospel as the power to save (Romans 1:16)

  5. He provided atonement through Christ’s blood (Romans 5:9)

MAN’S PART

  1. Hear the Gospel (Romans 10:17)

  2. Believe in Christ (Hebrews 11:6)

  3. Repent of sins (Luke 13:3; Acts 17:30)

  4. Confess faith in Jesus (Romans 10:10; Matthew 10:32)

  5. Be baptized for the remission of sins (Acts 2:38; Acts 22:16)

  6. Remain faithful unto death (Revelation 2:10)

God has done His part. The question is, will you do yours?

The question, “What must I do to be saved?” is one every person must answer. No one can answer it for you. Scripture teaches that we must work out our own salvation with fear and trembling (Philippians 2:12). That answer must come from God’s Word, not from human creeds or traditions (Matthew 15:9; Galatians 1:6–9).

All Scripture is given by inspiration of God and is sufficient to guide us into salvation (2 Timothy 3:16–17).

The Bible shows a clear pattern.

First, we must hear the Word of God, because faith comes by hearing (Romans 10:17). Without hearing the truth, genuine faith cannot exist.

Second, we must believe. Faith is not based on feelings, but on what God has revealed in His Word (John 20:31).

Third, we must repent. Jesus said that without repentance, we will perish (Luke 13:3). Repentance means a true change of mind that leads to a changed life. It involves turning away from sin and choosing to follow God.

Fourth, we must confess our faith in Jesus Christ. With the mouth, confession is made unto salvation (Romans 10:9–10).

Then, we must be baptized. In Acts 2:38, Peter commanded repentance and baptism for the remission of sins. Baptism is not a mere outward act, but a response of obedience to God. It is where sins are washed away (Acts 22:16) and where one is united with Christ (Galatians 3:27). Peter plainly states that baptism now saves us—not by physical cleansing, but as an appeal to God for a good conscience (1 Peter 3:21).

When a person obeys the Gospel, God adds them to His church (Acts 2:47), and they rise to walk in newness of life.

From that point forward, the Christian must remain faithful unto death (Revelation 2:10), continuing to live according to God’s Word.

If you find that your life does not align with this plan, you can change. It is never too late to obey the Gospel and be made right with God.
